Frolyt Kondensatoren und Bauelemente GmbH has developed a socket as an SMD variant for holding aluminum electrolytic capacitors, which can be reflow soldered from the blister belt. This socket design eliminates the need for manual soldering of the capacitor, which results in significant time and cost savings when assembling modules. In addition, if an aluminum electrolytic capacitor in the socket fails in an assembly, it can be replaced quickly. This simplifies minor repair work.
Only a little more space is required in the height; the socket results in a height build-up of 5.6 mm and has a diameter of 10.4 mm. The solution is suitable for capacitors with a pitch of 5 mm. A tensile strength of >10.0 kg (100 N) ensures safety. A voltage of <= 450 V and a maximum power of 1800 W can be applied. The pluggable wire diameters are 0.6 mm to 1.0 mm.
It is not mandatory to plug only capacitors, all components with a pitch of 5.0mm and a wire diameter of 0.6 mm to 1.0 mm can be plugged into the socket.
